The church would like to double the number of raised bed gardens in order to meet demand. The boxes for the raised beds have already been constructed and it is now a matter of putting dirt and amendment into place.

Five Loaves Community Garden Ground Breaking, May 8 (tentative), 10am

A Rocha Project Site – 1001 Cieneguitas Road, Santa Barbara
Please join us as we break ground on five-acres of land being cultivated into a food source for the poor in our community and a valuable site for creation care education and fieldwork.

Hope for Creation: A Live Simulcast Event with Dr. Matthew Sleeth, April 21 – 7:30pm

A Rocha will host a live simulcast event, on the eve of Earth Day, featuring Dr. Matthew Sleeth, author of Serve God Save the Planet. We will discuss Hope for Creation and respond during a live Q & A.

Creation Care Camp – June 7-9

We look forward to our second year of offering a children’s Creation Care Camp, which includes hands-on learning opportunities, hikes, scientific illustration, and many other engaging activities. Cost is $50.

A Rocha Institute - June 6-12

Various Venues, Santa Barbara

Topics will cover: fundraising; forming partnerships between non profits; theology; educational outreach; and practical fieldwork led by outstanding scientists. This is a perfect opportunity for you or someone you know who is looking to lead a creation care project in their community. Please contact institute@arocha.org  or call 805-452-2285 for more information. This week long workshop costs $295 for students and $395 for non-students and includes housing and food. Guest presenters include Ed Brown of Care of Creation, Theologian Christopher Wright (Remotely), and Ben Lowe of Renewal.

Volunteer
Weekly, monthly, or, if traveling from outside our area, a short term volunteer stay by doing the following:
Iimplementing our agricultural project
Raised bed garden upkeep
Native plant restoration work
Pollinator monitoring, or
trail maintenance projects.
